Music and DJ’ing has been such a vital part of my life for as long as I can remember. The song the started it was “Hey Mama” by the Black Eyed Peas. I grew up in Canada but was close enough to get Detroit’s radio stations and when I was 13 back in 2005, I used the cassette tapes and wanted to record this remixed radio version of Hey Mama I had heard. I stayed up late one Saturday night trying to record and listen to the radio and this is where I heard remixes, and all of the songs I knew being mixed into each other and I remember thinking it was so cool.

From there, I explored the music world and teaching myself how to mix, how to blend and how songs worked with each other. Growing up while the digital world was evolving, gave me the opportunity to learn DJ’ing and understand music in a digital format. As technology developed, I grew with it and learned how digital DJ’ing worked. I first started DJ’ing off a windows computer, but then quickly transitioned into using it on an iPhone/iOS in 2012. From there, the knowledge and experiments just grew.

Fast forward to now, with the way AI has been introduced into softwares and DJ’ing, I have grown a new passion in DJ’ing for creating live mashups. Using stems to isolate or remove vocals and instruments, with blending the other elements of another song has been my strong set and what I love to do. I have DJ’d at clubs, parties and weddings and love how the digital world allows me to make the most unexpected songs match and transition together. Bringing so many people together and creating a live, fun atmosphere.
